Warranty Policy for Chillybox

 

Warranty Period

Chillybox offers a 12-month, Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty from the date of purchase by the end user.  This Warranty covers devices purchased primarily for personal (residential) use, as well as limited commercial use (“Light Commercial Use”), as defined in the “Light Commercial Use” section below.

Component-Specific Warranties

- Chillybox housing unit: Covers malfunctions of the door assembly, cracks or defects in workmanship or materials.

- Machinery & Controls: Covers malfunctions of the cooling system assembly; including compressors, condensers, fans & control system including sensors, breakers, switches, wires, relays, contactors, etc. Internal parts: lights, fans and interior material.

- All other factory installed components not mentioned specifically, including, but not limited to the lighting system & mechanical components, are warranted against malfunction due to defects in workmanship or materials.

Software updates

 - All software updates for the Chillybox are provided free of charge during the warranty period. 

- Regular updates are essential to maintain optimal performance, security, and functionality of your device. We are committed to ensuring that your Chillybox operates with the latest features and improvements. 

- To benefit from these updates, please keep your device connected to the internet. While software updates are free during the warranty period, any costs associated with internet connectivity or data usage are the responsibility of the user.

Light Commercial Use

Chillybox may be used in a light commercial setting, under the following conditions:

- Up to 5 sessions per day: The Chillybox operates within its normal performance parameters, and all standard warranty terms apply.

- 6 to 10 sessions per day: The Chillybox may experience some performance degradation (e.g., longer cooling times or higher session temperatures). This is a natural outcome of heavier use and is not considered a defect or grounds for a warranty claim.

- More than 10 sessions per day: This usage level exceeds Light Commercial Use specifications. The Chillybox may cease to function properly, and any usage above this threshold voids the warranty.

Exclusions & Limitations

This 12-month, Limited Manufacturer’s Warranty is void if:

- Manufacturer or its designated representative determines that the Chillybox has been subjected to  alteration, neglect, misuse or abuse, or freight damage caused by the common carrier; 

- Unauthorized self-repairs or repairs made or contracted by an unauthorized electrician or anyone other than a designated representative, use of aftermarket parts, power outages or surges, restricted airflow.

- Usage is beyond Light Commercial Use (i.e., more than 10 sessions per day or any intensive commercial application), as detailed in the “Light Commercial Use” section;

- If being operated outside of recommended operating temperatures.

- If being used in a location other than the ship-to address.

- If the failure is caused by accident, acts of God or other causes beyond the control of the Manufacturer.
- Operation of Chillybox other than in accordance with the instructions contained in the Owner’s Manual provided with the Chillybox.

- Variations in color, grain & minor imperfections in the finish are not considered defects.

- If the device is installed as a built-in appliance or enclosed within cabinetry. The Chillybox is designed to be a freestanding unit, and any built-in installation will void the warranty.

Operating Temperature & Humidity Guidelines

The Chillybox is designed to operate efficiently within an ambient temperature range of 50F – 80F, making it suitable for in-home use. Please note that if the ambient temperature exceeds 80F &/or the environment has high humidity (above 50%), the cooling capacity may decrease, leading to longer cooling times & warmer session temperature. We recommend using your Chillybox in a temperature & humidity-controlled environment.

Additionally, if the ambient temperature exceeds 90°F, the Chillybox may not function properly or may not work at all. Operating under such high temperatures can cause overheating and potentially damage internal components. Using the Chillybox in environments where the temperature surpasses 90°F is prohibited to prevent malfunctions and ensure the longevity of your device.

The Chillybox is intended exclusively for indoor use and must not be used outdoors, as it is not designed to withstand external weather conditions. Using the Chillybox outdoors or in environments exposed to external elements is prohibited, as it may result in malfunction or damage to the device.

This information is crucial in maintaining your product’s performance & ensuring coverage under our warranty.

Relocating your Chillybox

When relocating the Chillybox outside of the room or premises where it is currently installed, it must be moved by a professional team using specialized equipment such as a dolly, pallet jack, and/or lifting harness. The unit must remain upright during transport and should not be tipped or rolled. Improper handling will void the warranty and may cause significant damage.

For movement within the same room, the Chillybox can be carefully moved in an upright position using the built-in wheels located underneath the unit. In such cases, you should move the Chillybox to the designated location by following the guidelines provided in the User Manual. Please ensure to adhere strictly to the instructions to prevent any damage.

Chillybox is not liable for injuries, property damage, or damage to the unit—including scratches, dents, or mechanical damages—resulting from unauthorized or improper movement of the unit. Any damages resulting from incorrect relocation within the home are excluded from the warranty.

Procedure for Claims

To make a warranty claim, contact the distributor from whom you purchased the unit, create a support ticket on our website or email support@chillybox.com.

Because Chillybox is being remotely monitored, many issues can be resolved quickly & remotely. Chillybox reserves the right to determine whether a covered part or item should be replaced or repaired. If an on-site technician covered under this Limited Warranty is necessary, the cost of part(s) & labor is covered by Chillybox. However, if an on-site repair is not possible, Chillybox may, at its discretion, have the product shipped to or from an in-house facility for repairs. Any repaired or replaced product will be warrantied for the remainder of the original applicable Limited Warranty period.

Remedy

During the warranty period, should your Chillybox exhibit any defects or malfunctions covered by this warranty, at our discretion, we will repair the unit at no cost to you. If a repair is not possible or practical, we will replace the defective product with a new or refurbished product that is at least functionally equivalent to the original. To obtain warranty service, please contact our customer service department for assistance & further instructions. All warranty services must be performed by our authorized providers.

Please refer to the User Manual for detailed instruction on the proper use & maintenance of your Chillybox. Familiarizing yourself with this information can prevent issues & ensure your unit operates correctly.

Post Manufacturer Warranty Period

Chillybox is here to keep you “freezing” beyond the one-year manufacturer’s warranty period with continued support. We offer extended warranty plans & will continue to help with repairs, as requested.

Disclaimers

The Manufacturer and its representatives will not be responsible for incidental or consequential damages, & shall not be liable for any injury, loss, cost or other damage, whether incidental or consequential, arising out of any defect covered by this limited warranty, including without limitation, loss of use of the Chillybox & cost for removal of defective product even if the Manufacturer was advised of the possibility of damage. The liability of the Manufacturer under this limited warranty, if any, shall not exceed the original amount paid for the defective product.

Coverage under this limited warranty shall commence as of the delivery date & the duration of such coverage shall not extend for any reason whatsoever beyond the stated time period. These disclaimers shall be equally applicable to any service provided by the Manufacturer & its designated representatives.
